The Bryant University women’s lacrosse team will travel to Albany to play UAlbany on Saturday, April 11, in a rematch of last year’s America East Tournament Championship. The game is scheduled for a noon start at Casey Stadium and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
This matchup is significant as it brings together the two top teams in the America East Conference. Bryant enters the contest with an 8-5 overall record and a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play, sitting just behind UAlbany, which holds a 9-4 overall record and is undefeated at 4-0 in league games. This meeting could have implications for seeding as both teams aim for postseason success.
Bryant has struggled historically against UAlbany, with only two wins out of eight meetings. The Bulldogs are winless (0-3) when playing on the Great Danes’ home turf. Last season, Bryant secured a narrow regular-season victory over UAlbany thanks to Lily Auger’s late goal and Sam Centofante’s key save but fell short in the championship game after being outscored by UAlbany in the second half.
Several players are expected to play pivotal roles for Bryant. Gabriella Constant leads her team with 40 goals this season and ranks among the top scorers nationally per game. Emily DeGeorge has been consistent offensively with hat tricks in each of her last eight conference games and leads all players in goals per game during league matchups. Defensively, Kaelynn O’Brien and Jessica Tosone have anchored efforts with high numbers of ground balls and caused turnovers, ranking first and second respectively within America East games.
For UAlbany, Ravan Marsell tops the conference charts with 54 points while Paisley Cook leads her squad with 29 goals along with an impressive tally of draw controls.
As both teams prepare for this important showdown, fans can follow updates through social media channels or tune into ESPN+ for live coverage.
