Bryant University’s baseball team won 4-2 against UMass Lowell on April 26, completing a three-game sweep at LeLacheur Park. The Bulldogs improved their record to 22-18 overall and 10-8 in the America East Conference.

The game was notable as Bryant’s first three-game sweep of the season. The pitching trio of Cole Schiff, Thomas Galusha, and Justin Dressler limited UMass Lowell to just four hits and retired 18 of the final 20 batters.

UMass Lowell took an early lead in the third inning with two runs, but Bryant responded in the fourth when Ellis Garcia hit a two-run home run to tie the game. In the eighth inning, Carlos Irizarry’s shallow fly ball led to Casey Wensley scoring from first base after a fielding error by UML’s center fielder. Bryant added another run in the ninth for insurance.

Schiff started for Bryant and pitched three innings, allowing two runs on three hits. Galusha followed with three scoreless innings without allowing a baserunner, while Dressler closed out the final three innings to earn his third win of the season.

With this victory, Bryant now leads its Division I series against UMass Lowell 13-10 and is 8-7 against them in America East play. Sunday marked not only their first series sweep this season but also continued their trend of sweeping each league opponent at least once since joining America East in 2023.

Looking ahead, Bryant will continue its road trip with a game at Holy Cross scheduled for Wednesday.
