The Bryant University baseball team will continue its current road trip with a game against Holy Cross in Worcester, scheduled for Wednesday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m., according to an announcement on April 27.
This matchup is part of Bryant’s ongoing stretch of away games. The Bulldogs are currently in the midst of an 11-game road trip and have split their first six games on the road. The upcoming contest follows a weekend sweep by Bryant over UMass Lowell, where they secured victories with scores of 8-5, 5-3, and 4-2.
Bryant holds a perfect record against Holy Cross, having won all three previous meetings between the teams. Earlier this season, Bryant defeated Holy Cross by a score of 11-1 at Conaty Park. In that game, Cam Papetti, Ellis Garcia, and Hunter Kingsbury each hit home runs during an eight-run third inning.
As the Bulldogs prepare for Wednesday’s game, they bring a season record of 22 wins and 18 losses. They have won seven out of eleven series this year—including four out of six America East matchups—and are recognized as one of the top base-stealing teams nationally with a total of 121 stolen bases across forty games. Four players—Casey Wensley (26), Hunter Kingsbury (17), Gavin Greger (16), and Charlie Saul (15)—have each recorded more than ten steals.
Ellis Garcia leads Bryant offensively with a .367 batting average along with eleven home runs and thirty-nine runs batted in. He also ranks among league leaders in several offensive categories. Casey Wensley has contributed significantly as well with a .340 average and fifty-one runs scored so far this season.
Holy Cross enters the week holding an overall record of eighteen wins and twenty-five losses after winning two out of three games against Lehigh last weekend. The Crusaders are hitting .253 as a team this year while recording eighty-five stolen bases.
