The Bryant men’s golf team concluded its run at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship on April 29, facing Little Rock in the semifinal round of match play.
This result marks the end of a strong showing for Bryant, which entered the final day of stroke play in seventh place but managed to secure a top-four seed. The Bulldogs shot 14 over par as a team in Round 3 at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana.
In match play, No. 1 seed Little Rock defeated No. 4 Bryant by a score of 4.5 to 0.5. Individual matches saw Ed Featherstone (Little Rock) win against Dylan Gallagher (Bryant), Elliott Simonsen (Little Rock) beat Matthew Downes (Bryant), Viggo Talamaski (Little Rock) defeat Chad Correia (Bryant), and Matt Stockdale (Little Rock) overcome Sam Fuentes (Bryant). The match between Rhett South (Little Rock) and Matthew Young (Bryant) was halved after being tied through fifteen holes.
During stroke play, Dylan Gallagher led Bryant with a tie for eighth place at five over par after rounds of 75, 69, and 74. Other notable performances included Sam Fuentes tying for seventeenth (+8), Matthew Downes tying for twenty-fourth (+10), while both Matthew Young and Chad Correia finished tied for thirty-second (+13).
The team leaderboard from stroke play placed Little Rock first at twenty-eight under par, followed by UT Martin (+17), Tennessee Tech (+24), and Bryant (+33). In match play standings, Little Rock advanced with two wins while Bryant finished without a win.
