Bryant men’s golf holds seventh place as OVC Championship play halted

The Bryant men’s golf team remained in seventh place at the Ohio Valley Conference Championship after play was suspended due to lightning on Monday, Apr. 27. The second round is set to resume at 8:00 AM on Tuesday.

The team posted a score of +18 overall, shooting +5 for the day before weather interrupted the round. Dylan Gallagher led Bryant in Round 2 with a score of -2, tying for eighth place individually with an overall score of +2.

According to tournament information, the event is being held at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex in West Lafayette, Indiana. The course measures 7,093 yards and plays as a par-71 layout.

Other notable individual performances include Sam Fuentes tied for sixteenth at +4 and Matthew Downes tied for twenty-fifth at +5 through partial completion of their rounds. Matthew Young and Chad Correia rounded out Bryant’s scoring with totals of +8 and +10 respectively.

In the team standings, Little Rock leads at -13, followed by UT Martin (+7) and Western Illinois (+9). Bryant sits just one stroke behind Morehead State (+17) heading into the resumption of play.

Play will continue Tuesday morning as competitors complete their second rounds. Tee times are scheduled beginning at 8:40 AM for Chad Correia and concluding with Matthew Downes teeing off at 9:20 AM.
