The Bryant University men’s lacrosse team will host Quinnipiac at Beirne Stadium this Saturday, with the game scheduled to begin at noon.
Bryant holds a 6-2 advantage in the all-time series against Quinnipiac. Last season, Bryant secured an 18-10 win on the road against the Bobcats and has won five of its last six matchups with them.
A victory on Saturday would give Bryant its first win of the season, improve its record to 1-2, and mark its seventh win over Quinnipiac in program history.
Currently, Bryant is 0-2 after a recent loss to Merrimack. The team will play this home game before starting a three-game stretch on the road.
Zac Amend has led Bryant in points for two consecutive games, totaling seven points (five goals and two assists) so far this season. Jack McCloskey contributed three forced turnovers and three ground balls in the matchup against Merrimack. Luke Krebs also recorded three ground balls and caused two turnovers during that game. Both McCloskey and Krebs lead the team with four caused turnovers each. Caden Lennon scored his first two career goals in the loss to Merrimack.
Quinnipiac began their season with a 15-12 win over UMass Lowell but now holds a 1-2 record following losses to UMass Amherst and St. John’s. Mason Poli, who graduated from Bryant in 2013, is now in his eighth year as head coach for Quinnipiac. The Bobcats are averaging just over ten goals per game across their first three matches this season, with Cole Marsala leading the team with twelve points (seven goals and five assists).
