The Bryant University track and field program set four all-time school records during competitions at the Tufts Spring Stampede on April 10 and the Bucknell Outdoor Classic on April 11.
The new records were achieved in both men’s and women’s events. Amanda Kalinowski set a new heptathlon record with 4,456 points, achieving top-five placements in five events, including personal bests in the javelin throw (35.56 meters) and the 200-meter dash (25.87 seconds). Connor McCue established a decathlon record with 5,935 points after setting personal bests in four events: the 100-meter dash (11.31 seconds), long jump (6.56 meters), 400-meter dash (52.29 seconds), and the 1,500-meter run (5:10.89).
At Bucknell, Isabel Berardino improved her own school record in the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:48.75. On the men’s side, Ian Thomas set a new long jump record by reaching a distance of 7.11 meters while earning a top-five placement.
Several other athletes recorded personal bests or high placements during these meets. Kevin Cavrell achieved personal records in three events at Tufts; Ashley Brule and Peyton Barron placed among the top five in pole vault; Agatha Nunez posted her fastest time yet in the women’s 100-meter dash; Ella Goulas finished among the top ten triple jumpers; Liv Pachter ran her fastest mile; Kate DeSousa was among the top ten high jumpers; Jordyn Collins ran her best-ever time for the women’s 400 meters; Madison Guerrera posted a personal best for the women’s 200 meters.
Other notable performances included Mia Bettez and Emma Nadolski running their fastest times in the women’s 800 meters, Annabelle Lynch and Ava Burl setting personal marks for themselves in the women’s1500m event, Norah Puleo posting her quickest result over three kilometers, Kalen Knott winning first place with his pole vault performance of five meters on behalf of Bryant men.
The team will next compete at Bryan Clay Invitational as they continue their season.
