Four members of the Brown University men’s swimming and diving team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, according to an April 7 announcement. Rowland Lawver, Marton Nagy, Matteo Vasiliadis, and Matt Williamson received this recognition for the first time.
The award highlights student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both in athletics and academics. To qualify for the honor, nominees must have participated in at least 75 percent of their team’s competitions, achieved a top-eight finish at a conference meet or competed at nationals, maintained a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and reached sophomore athletic eligibility.
Lawver was recognized as Second Team All-Ivy in the one-meter dive and earned the Ron Keenhold Career High-Point Diver distinction during the Ivy League Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship. He also recorded seven wins each in both one-meter and three-meter dives this season.
Nagy took part in the 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships after winning his second consecutive title in the 400 individual medley (IM) and earning Second Team All-Ivy honors in the 200 IM. At nationals, he competed in both events while setting two new program records by breaking his own marks from last season.
Vasiliadis participated at NCAA Zone A Dives where he finished fifteenth in the one-meter event; he also placed sixth during finals at Ivy League Championships. Williamson secured an individual win earlier this season against Cornell in the 1000 freestyle event.
The recognition reflects not only athletic achievement but also academic dedication among student-athletes.
