The Providence College softball team will welcome Georgetown University to Glay Field for a three-game BIG EAST series from April 28-29, according to an announcement on April 27. The doubleheader is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28, with games at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and the final game will take place Wednesday, April 29 at 3:00 p.m. All games are set to be streamed on FriarsLive.

This series holds significance as Providence has secured its spot in the upcoming BIG EAST Softball Tournament in Chicago, scheduled for May 7-9. The Friars have posted a record of 26-15 overall and hold a conference mark of 15-3, both representing program bests this season.

Several players have reached personal milestones ahead of the matchup. Cameron Dunn recently broke the program’s single-season home run record with her thirteenth homer and leads the team with a .883 slugging percentage and fifteen home runs—both marks ranking second in the conference. Dunn has also been featured five times on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll this season.

Emily Jonte continues to provide strong offense with a .417 batting average and was named BIG EAST Player of the Week after leading Providence during a sweep over DePaul earlier in the year. In pitching, Alyssa Twomey leads with ten wins and holds a conference second-best earned run average of 3.12 across seventy-six innings pitched. Freshman Addy Frye was recognized as BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after securing key victories against Brown and UConn.

Georgetown enters with an overall record of fifteen wins and twenty-one losses, including eight victories in conference play. Dayanara Campos leads their offense with eleven home runs while Catherine Larson heads their pitching staff with seven wins this season.

After concluding this series against Georgetown, Providence will travel to Indianapolis from May 1-3 for its final regular season games against Butler.
