Providence College women’s basketball Head Coach Erin Batth announced on April 27 that Daviane Mindoudi Ongbakahoumb has signed an athletic aid agreement and will join the team for the 2026-27 season.
The addition of Mindoudi is seen as a move to strengthen the team’s guard position and overall defensive capabilities. Her experience in collegiate and international play could provide depth and versatility for Providence in upcoming seasons.
“Davi gives us size at the guard position and has the ability to be a top defender in the BIG EAST Conference,” Batth said. “Offensively, she can hit the three and get downhill when attacking the rim. We want to play fast and she will help our team be a threat in transition. We are excited to have Davi join our program.”
Mindoudi, who stands at 6-foot-1, played two seasons with the Gators, appearing in 49 games including seven starts—six of which were during Southeastern Conference regular season games against teams such as LSU, Texas, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Before her college career in the United States, she competed for Segle XXI in Barcelona within Spain’s Liga Femenina 2 league. In her final season with Segle XXI (2023-24), she ranked among her team’s top five players across several statistical categories: points, assists, steals, blocks, and rebounds.
The recruitment of Mindoudi reflects Providence’s focus on building a competitive roster ahead of future conference play.
