The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts announced on March 25 that artwork created by Providence Public School students is now on display at the Atrium Gallery, located at One Capitol Hill in Providence.
The exhibition showcases pieces from students in kindergarten through grade 12 and is curated by Nicole Simpson, Director of Fine and Performing Arts for the Providence Public School District. The council said this event highlights its ongoing efforts to promote arts growth across Rhode Island’s towns and cities, enhancing cultural development according to the official website.
Simpson said, “This exhibition affirms the importance of comprehensive arts education in nurturing creative thinkers and confident communicators.”
An opening reception for the student art exhibition will take place on March 26 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Atrium Gallery, which is situated on the first floor of the state’s Administration Building. The event is free and open to all members of the public.
