The Providence College women’s golf team finished its first season at the BIG EAST Women’s Golf Championships, which concluded on April 27 at Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, South Carolina. The Friars placed seventh overall with a total team score of 1,005 (+141).
This event marked the end of Providence’s inaugural campaign in women’s golf. Sophomore Gwendolyn Yarnall was the team’s top performer, finishing 25th individually with a score of 235 (+19). Yarnall also recorded six birdies over three rounds and closed her season with six top-25 finishes.
Freshman Myla Bisceglia matched Yarnall’s birdie count during the championship and tied for 29th place overall. Other Friars competitors included Prisha Pandey (39th), Grace Catalano (40th), Samantha Dunn (41st), and Oliva Arone (42nd). Providence posted round scores of 342, 328, and 335 across the three days.
Xavier University won both the team title with a combined score of 871 (+7) and saw Madison Reemsnyder claim individual honors after posting a three-round total of 209 (-7). Full results are available online.
The conclusion of this tournament marks an important milestone for Providence as it establishes its presence in collegiate women’s golf competition.
