73 percent of applicants to Rhode Island College were admitted for fall 2018

At Rhode Island College, 78 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 69 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Providence enrolled 7,766 students in fall 2018, including 6,684 in undergraduate and 1,082 in graduate programs, data shows. 10.2 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

78 percent of undergraduates are residents of Rhode Island, and 22 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (56 percent) and Hispanic or Latino (21 percent).

The school admitted 73 percent of the 4,208 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 27 percent enrolled.
