24 percent of applicants to Rhode Island School of Design were admitted for fall 2018

At Rhode Island School of Design, 98 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students - age 24 or younger - and 68 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Providence enrolled 2,467 students in fall 2018, including 1,994 in undergraduate and 473 in graduate programs, data shows. 2.3 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

3 percent of undergraduates are residents of Rhode Island, and 62 percent are residents of other states. 33 percent are citizens of foreign countries.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (30 percent) and Asian (18 percent).

The school admitted 24 percent of the 3,913 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 51 percent enrolled.
