City of Providence recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Providence today announced the City’s 2022 street sweeping schedule to increase cleanliness and removal of debris and litter from neighborhood streets. The City’s street sweeping program has expanded to sweeping all city streets four times, made possible with American Rescue Plan funds.
Street sweeping crews will clean streets nightly from 10:30PM-7:00AM. Crews will also conduct daytime sweeping operations on streets where parking is limited or where crews can work with minimal traffic interruptions. Residents are encouraged to view the Street Sweeping Schedule on the Providence Department of Public Works website. The schedule is subject to change due to weather and staffing.
When street sweepers are in your neighborhood, residents are encouraged to:
- Move vehicles off the street between 10:30PM-7:00AM
- Remove any garbage, recycling and yard waste containers from the street
- Avoid blowing, piling, raking or sweeping leaves or other debris in the street or gutter. Street sweepers are not designed to pick up large pieces, piles or wet debris.
Residents can confirm the ward they live in by visiting the online ward map allowing users the ability to search or zoom to a given address and immediately determine their ward number. Residents are also able to find more information on street sweeping by calling the Mayor’s Center for City Services at City Hall by dialing 3-1-1 or by downloading the PVD311 mobile application now available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
