Little East Conference recently issued the following announcement.
The Eastern Connecticut State University softball team moved up one spot from a week ago, claiming the No. 8 position this week’s edition of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Poll.
The Warriors (13-3) lone opponent last week was Springfield College. Eastern took game-one by a final count of 4-0 before falling in the nightcap, 3-2 in six innings. The second game ended early due to darkness at SC.
The Warriors are scheduled to travel to Trinity (Conn.) for a non-conference doubleheader Wednesday at 3 p.m. before opening Little East Conference play at home against Southern Maine Saturday at 1 p.m.
