Little East Conference recently issued the following announcement.
Field Athlete of the Week / Rookie Field Athlete of the Week
Jaigan Boudreau (Dayton, Maine) - Freshman - Southern Maine
Boudreau swept this week’s field athlete awards after notching a first-place finish in the discus at the Bates Quad Meet Saturday - her toss of 41.88 meters currently ranks eighth-best in NCAA Division III this season. She also won the shot put (11.61m) and placed fifth in the hammer (38.55m) at Bates. Boudreau ranks second in New England in the discus, seventh in the shot and 17th in the hammer.
Track Athlete of the Week
Trinity Hayes (Providence, R.I.) - Senior - Rhode Island College
Hayes was named the LEC Track Athlete of the Week after Hayes placing fourth in the 400-meter dash (58.34) and ninth in the 200 (26.08) at Bryant's Black and Gold Invitational, which featured mostly DI and DII competition. Her time in the 400 currently ranks 15th in NCAA Division III and fourth in New England this season. Her 200 times is 14th-best in the region.
Rookie Track Athlete of the Week
Jaiden Andrews (Plymouth, Mass.) - Senior - UMass Dartmouth
Andrews, who is in her first collegiate season, was named the LEC Rookie Track Athlete of the Week after placing first in the 200-meter dash (26.49), second in the 100-meter dash (12.85), and third in the 100-meter hurdles (15.48) at UMass Dartmouth’s Corsair Invitational Saturday. She ranks 10th in New England in the 100 hurdles, 19th in the 100 dash and 20th in the 200 dash.
Relay of the Week
Southern Maine 4x100
The Huskies’ 4x100m relay team of Sophia Slovenski (Cape Neddick, Maine), Ana Hewett (Sidney, Maine), Maddie Fornasier (South Burlington, Vt.), and Emma Noonan (Steep Falls, Maine) won their event at the Bates Quad Meet with a time of 50.50 seconds. Their time ranks first in the conference this season by over four seconds, and is 10th-best in New England.
