Little East Conference recently issued the following announcement.
Offensive Player of the Week
Gavin Admirand (Marshfield, Mass.) - Senior - Attack - UMass Boston
Admirand was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week after scoring 10 goals with five assists and seven ground balls in a 2-0 week for the Beacons, who clinches the No. 1 Seed in next week’s LEC Championship Tournament following their two league victories. He opened the week scoring four goals with three ground balls in a 23-14 win over WestConn before scoring six goals with five assists and four ground balls in a 22-6 win over Eastern Connecticut.
Defensive Player of the Week
Justin McCullough (Waltham, Mass.) - Sophomore - Defense - UMass Boston
McCullough was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week after leading a defensive unit that allowed 10 goals per game in a 2-0 week, giving the Beacons at least a share of the LEC regular season title and the No. 1 Seed in next week’s conference tournament. He had four caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 23-14 win over WestConn, the conference’s second-ranked offensive team, and tallied two caused turnovers with two more GBs in a 22-6 win at Eastern Connecticut.
Goalie of the Week
Chris Wilk (Rutland, Vt.) - Sophomore - Castleton
Wilk was named the LEC Goalie of the Week after posting a 1-1 record with a 10.00 goals against average and .667 save percentage for the Spartans, totaling 30 saves over their two games played. He had 16 saves in a 12-10 league victory at Southern Maine after making 14 stops in a 10-7 setback to Plymouth State.
Rookie of the Week
Connor Woods (Nipmuc, Mass.) - Freshman - Attack - Keene State
Woods was named the LEC Rookie of the Week after erupting for four goals and three assists for seven points in the Owls 25-8 league victory over Salem State. Each of those totals mark a career-best for the freshman.
