After improving to 17-0-1 for the season, the Western Connecticut State University men’s soccer team is now ranked 17th in the nation in the D3soccer.com Poll, and moved up to No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Wolves were ranked No. 19 and No. 22 last week, respectively.
WestConn opened last week’s action with a 3-1 non-conference win over Trinity College before downing Little East Conference (LEC) rival UMass Boston 2-1 Saturday. The Wolves victory over the Beacons clinched the 2022 LEC regular season championship and the No. 1 seed in next week’s conference championship tournament.
WestConn will close out the 2022 regular season this week with a non-conference game at Pratt Institute Wednesday and a league match at Southern Maine Saturday.
