The 2022 Academic All-District® Football and Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field or court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes football and volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in late December. The CSC Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes listed at the links above.
Ben Silver and Darnel Shillingford become the first Bulldogs to earn CSC Academic All-District honors.
Silver is a finance major that holds a 3.74 GPA. He had a breakout season on the field this fall, posting 27.0 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 9.0 TFLs. Silver collected multiple tackles in six games, including a career-high 6.0 at North Carolina A&T. He had four games with multiple TFLs, including 2.5 against Campbell.
Shillingford is also a finance major and holds a 3.71 GPA. He was a rock in the middle of Bryant's defensive line, posting 32.0 tackles and 2.5 TFLs. Shillingford collected multiple tackles in seven games, including a career-high 7.0 against Charleston Southern. He also had 2.0 TFLs in the game against the Buccaneers.
