The Keene State College men’s basketball team will enter the 2023 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament as the fifth-ranked team in the nation, according to this week’s edition of the D3hoops.com Poll. This marks the Owls fourth consecutive week at No. 5.

Keene State improved to 26-1 for the season after winning the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship Tournament for the sixth time in program history, and with it the league’s automatic berth into the national tournament. The Owls opened their LEC title defense with an 83-61 semifinal win over fourth-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University before holding off second-seeded Western Connecticut State University 83-79 in overtime in the tournament final.

Keene State will host one of this weekend’s NCAA regional tournaments, and will face Baruch College in the First Round Friday at 5:30 p.m. The winner will take on either Widener University or Tufts University Saturday. The Jumbos are also featured in the poll in the receiving votes category.
