PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Eastern Connecticut State University baseball team climbed three spots to No. 2 in this week’s edition of the D3basbeall.com / NAtional Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Poll, as it garnered 575 points and six first-place votes. Birmingham-Southern remained at the top-spot in the ranking with 616 points and 19 first-place votes.
The Warriors rebounded from dropping their first decision of the season Monday at Mary Washington by going 5-0 at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Eastern Connecticut swept a doubleheader from Mount Aloysius by scores of 4-0 and 5-3 before twice defeating Worcester State (10-1 and 5-4) and recording a 16-7 victory over Salem State.
The Warriors are scheduled for five games this week, taking on New England College (March 21), Westfield State (March 22) and Salve Regina (March 23) in non-conference play before opening the Little East Conference (LEC) portion of their schedule Saturday with home doubleheader versus Plymouth State.
