Eastern Connecticut’s Barry Named All-America by WBCA and D3hoops.com

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Eastern Connecticut State University senior forward Anna Barry added to list of accolades this season, being named a 2022-23 All-American by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and D3hoops.com.
 
Barry repeats as a WBCA All-American Honorable Mention, having received the honor for the first time last season. She was named All-America by D3hoops.com for the first time, landing on the Fourth-Team.
 
Barry was named the Little East Conference’s (LEC) 2022-23 Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, marking the third time in her career she won the two awards in the same season. She finished the year averaging 16.7 points (second in the LEC) and a league-leading 12.2 rebounds per game to go with a league-best 76 blocked shots.
 
Barry led the Warriors to a share of the 2022-23 LEC regular season title and a berth in the conference tournament final against eventual champion Rhode Island College. Eastern then received an at-large berth to the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament, where it fell in the First Round to eventual Sweet 16 participant Marietta.
 
Barry became the 11th player in LEC women’s basketball history to be named and All-American. She is the seventh to earn All-America in multiple seasons, and the fifth to be recognized by both organizations. She was also was listed among the top senior players in Division III -- as voted upon by a panel of head coaches – as a selection to the 20-person 2023 Women's Collegiate All-Star Game Team.
