6.6% of citizens unemployed in Providence County in 2021

Providence County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.6% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 23,105 people out of the 656,672 living in Providence County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Providence County has increased compared to the 5.9% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Providence County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 6%.

Of the 327,711 people who had a job during that time, 376 were employed in the Armed Forces and 327,335 belonged to the civilian labor force.
