43 percent of applicants to Johnson & Wales University-Online were admitted for fall 2018

At Johnson & Wales University-Online, 62 percent of undergraduate students are nontraditional students - age 25 or older - and 72 percent are female, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year private not-for-profit institution in Providence enrolled 1,508 students in fall 2018, including 890 in undergraduate and 618 in graduate programs, data shows. 18.9 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

20 percent of undergraduates are residents of Rhode Island, and 73 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (50 percent) and Black or African American (24 percent).

The school admitted 43 percent of the 120 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 59 percent enrolled.
