Burrillville Town recently issued the following announcement.
April 1st is 401Gives Day in Rhode Island! Powered by United Way of Rhode Island, 401Gives brings people together to make a difference for local nonprofits that deliver vital services to our communities throughout the state. 401Gives unites and offers everyone a safe, comfortable, and familiar virtual fundraising experience all while giving nonprofits unrestricted funds that strengthen Rhode Island. Pascoag Utility District is a proud sponsor of the RI Good Neighbor Energy Fund which will be participating in 401Gives Day. We encourage anyone that can donate on Friday, April 1st (4/01) to consider donating to this worthy program. Visit https://www.401gives.org/organizations/rhode-island-good-neighbor-energy... to learn more about the Fund, and come back on 4/01 to make a gift.
The Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund is a cooperative effort between sponsoring energy companies (Block Island Utility District, National Grid, Ocean State Power, Pascoag Utility District, Petro Home Services and RISEC LP), United Way Rhode Island which administers the Fund and all Rhode Islanders to provide energy assistance to households in financial difficulty.
We don't need to look any further than the current coronavirus pandemic to understand that families can quickly find themselves in a crisis situation due to a loss of a job or unexpected medical expense. And the need doesn't end with the colder weather. Since 1986, the Fund has assisted more than 46,250 families with their energy bills even when the weather warms up as the urgency is year-round.
On behalf of all the families in need across the state, we thank you for considering the Fund's request for a donation.
