Little East Conference recently issued the following announcement.
Offensive Player of the Week
Haile Ratajack (Brewster, N.Y.) - Junior - Midfielder - Keene State
Ratajack was named the LEC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling 14 goals, two assists and eight draw controls in a 2-0 week for the Owls. She opened the week scoring eight goals with one assist and three draw controls in a 15-2 win at Castleton before netting six goals with one helper and five draw controls in a 19-12 win over Southern Maine. Ratajack also tallied nine ground balls and caused 10 turnovers on the week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Meghan Lorenzen (Stoney Brook, N.Y.) - Junior - Defense - WestConn
Lorenzen was named the LEC Defensive Player of the Week after leading a Wolves’ defensive unit that limited opponents to 4.5 goals per game in a 2-0 week, which saw WestConn take sole possession of first place in the LEC standings. She had three caused turnovers, and three ground balls in a 21-3 rout of UMass Dartmouth before registering two caused turnovers and two ground balls in a 7-6 victory over Plymouth State. The junior also notched 10 draw controls on the week, seven of which were against the Panthers Saturday.
Goalie of the Week / Rookie of the Week
Piper Sherbert (Freeport, Maine) - Sophomore - Goalie - Plymouth State
Sherbert, who is in her first collegiate lacrosse season, was named LEC Goalie of the Week and Rookie of the Week after posting a 1-1 record with a .657 save percentage and 6.00 goals against average for the Panthers, totaling 30 saves over two games. She had six stops in a 9-5 win over Southern Maine before registering a career-best 17 stops in a 7-6 setback to league-leading WestConn.
