Public Works Department opens Municipal Compost Site/Forbes Street

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASENovember 7, 2022CONTACT INFO. :Office of the MayorPatricia Resende(401) 529-3207presende@eastprovidenceri.govPublic Works Department opens Municipal Compost Site/Forbes StreetEAST PROVIDENCE, RI – The East Providence Public Works Department, Recycling/Refuse Division announces that the Forbes Street compost site will be open to residents on the following Saturdays November 12, 19, 26 and December 3, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The DPW will also open the compost site on Friday, November 25, 2022 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Residents may drop off leaves, grass, branches on larger than two inches in diameter and other vegetative material suitable for composting at the site. Incoming material must be loose; no plastic bags, no contaminants, no trash or fencing material. Residents must show a valid driver’s license or state-issued ID card as proof of residency. No commercial vehicles are permitted.The last week for curbside Yard Waste collection is December 12, 2022 – December 16, 2022.
