Andreessen named an FCS AP All-American

Bryant University football linebacker Joe Andreessen was named to the FCS Associated Press All-America Second Team, it was announced on Tuesday. 

Andreessen becomes the fifth AP All-American in school history, joining Lorenzo Perry (2006), Jordan Harris (2012), Jeff Covitz (2014) and Thomas Costigan (2017). 

The Depew, N.Y., native shined in his final season in the Black and Gold, setting a program record with 116.0 tackles. He finished the year ranked second nationally with 77 solo tackles and sixth nationally in total tackles. Andreessen also ranked sixth nationally in TFLs, finishing with 18.5. He posted 10+ tackles in all but two games during the season and was the only player in the FCS to begin the year with five-straight games of double-digit tackles. Andreessen finished his Bryant career tied for third all-time with 256.0 tackles.
